These classes are designed for dogs that have completed our puppy classes or for dogs over 12 months of age that have not had a prior obedience class. The Beginners Obedience Class improves your training skills and emphasize the basic commands to make your dog a better companion.

Advanced Beginners Class

More emphasis will be placed on attention exercises and heeling leash work, recalls, sit stays, and down stays. This course refines the skills learned and polishes the handling skills of the owners. Higher levels of distractions are added for proofing your dog’s performance.

Agility classes have several different levels:

Beginning I Agility – class introduces the dog and handler to each of the individual obstacles used in an agility course and how to execute them correctly and safely. Proper jumping technique is covered and brief 2-3 obstacle sequencing started in later week classes. Appropriate for young and/or inexperienced dogs with height of obstacles lowered. Required, prior CDTC basic obedience class.

Beginning II Agility – this class builds on the foundation of the Beginning I class. The objective is to build confidence in both the dog and handler by developing the pair’s communication and understanding of handling and obstacle skills to shape them into a team. 6-8 obstacle sequencing offered. This level class may be taken as often as necessary to solidify team skills.

Intermediate/Advance Agility – class is designed to continue team and skill building in preparation for entering competition. Longer sequences offered as encountered in competition. Obstacles presented at regulation height.
